I love oatmeal. I love it a little TOO much actually and unfortunately it doesn’t love me back so when I do treat myself to it, I like to make it worthwhile. This is one of my favourite “recipes” that I made a slight change to to balance it out a bit but is from Dr. Michael Murray’s book How to Prevent and Treat Cancer with Natural Medicine. Try it out for breakfast or around your workouts and enjoy because it is so yum!
Happy Apple Breakfast – Serves 2
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
2 1/2 cups water
1 apples, green chopped or 1 golden delicious apple, chopped
1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds, flower seeds or 1/2 cup raw sunflower seed
2 tablespoons organic flax seed oil (to taste)
1 tablespoon organic honey
1-2scoops of naturally or unsweetened protein powder OR 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
Combine all ingredients except flaxseed oil and honey and simmer for 10 minute. Turn off heat, cover and let steam for 5 minutes. Stir in flaxseed oil and honey. Add and mix in the protein powder or Greek yogurt, eat and enjoy!
