I posted up on my Instagram yesterday that I would share with you a little more in detail what I share with some of my clients, family/friends, and use myself. I gave some tidbits on here and my other social media previously but I figured to make it a bit more concise for you this time. I am certain that the one thing we can all agree on is that just about everyone needs to fit in more produce into their diets. Not everyone is a foodie, a chef, likes to, or can, spend a lot of time meal prepping. I hope this gives you a practical solution for one of the hardest things to get in each day.
Having a diverse nutrient-rich diet is paramount and will allow you those times of indulgence without ruining your body composition, your microbiome and overall health and well-being. This can only start happening if you start NOW and keep at it. In case you didn’t already know, I don’t believe that rules are often meant to be followed and can restrict you and your life so please, don’t stress about a perfect recipe or combination of vegetables (and fruit) for this.
For this particular batch, I didn’t add in any fruits but that is definitely encouraged if you want a little sweetness to satisfy you.
Be sure to wash your produce thoroughly and don’t be shy with the amounts you use as this is going to last you for at least a week in a covered container or containers in the fridge. What makes this so convenient is that the entire process, from washing, shaving, and well, processing aka shoving things down the pipe hole and hearing it shred. It takes under an hour and can save you a ton of money now if you are buying pre-made salads to get your veggies, and will save you a lot of dough long term in disease-related issues by taking care of you now!
It is actually pretty easy to get your daily dose of protein in and I mean even at 1-2g/ day, but the veggies, not so much until now. Both of these I highly advocate generally speaking 😉 All you have to do each night before work or even the morning of, is grab a container with a lid, scoop some of your uh-maze-ing processored (ya that’s not a real world btw) produce, a utensil and boom diggity you are all set to probably get even more of your daily need in .
I will say, don’t jump right into eating a buttload of this right off the bat if you are not accustomed to raw produce or you will hate your stomach and not continue with the journey. Introduce a little bit per day to help your body adjust and change up the veggies and fruits you use each week.
YES you can add a bit of your favourite dressing or sauce just don’t get carried away, and this can go well with just about any meal. Hell, you could even try adding it to a wrap or sandwich if that tickles your fancy.
