.eVoL.

They say distance makes the heart grow fonder.
I say it creates precedence, allows the weak to wander.
Your convenient apathy, putting all the blame on me
Worse was I owned it, just one of your victories.
The one who was always supposed to have my cover
And be more than a friend, more than just a lover.
Now you act as if you were down before
But when I needed you most, you slammed the door.
A lie you told over and over again,
The meaning of love, and until the end.
The tables are turning, again I pick up and go,
The things you thought you’d keep hidden, I already know.
Nothing left now but an empty space
But the void I will fill, no longer seeing your face.
Your touch became cold, our embraces fewer,
Never a direct answer, always some kind of maneuver.
A life of another sort it seemed to me you exposed,
Using against me my vulnerability, my self unclothed.
Cries for your touch, left me to wonder
Who’s body you were crawling out from under?
Never up to your standard, my future seemed bleak,
So I walked away, I’m no longer weak.
They say distance makes the heart grow fonder.
I say it creates precedence, allows the weak to wander.
Love spelled backwards tells it all,
Your lies, games and deception, were pure eVoL.
