>Arnold’s and Strikeforce Weekend!

>

This past weekend was ummmm AWESOME! This was my third time attending the Arnold’s sports festival (last year I was lucky enough to work the Grizzly booth with some saweeet peeps…good times ;)) and this year was just as cool. I love going to these shows to see all of the inspiring people and most of all for me, to see the fighters and the fights and to get freebies!! I love to test out new products and it is pretty cool that these expo’s let you do that before you buy them or recommend them to people. Some even give you full bottles/packs which pretty much rocks my world. I had such a good weekend seeing some old friends and making some new ones. This year the Friday at the expo was surprising uber packed. This is usually the best day to get around there without being rammed but this year proved to be different. I love that you get to see some of the competitions right in the middle of the expo too.

Saturday was by far my favey! I won some free digs from one of my favourite clothing lines (I LOVE their designs and most of all what they stand for and support) Fight Chix. Super cool people too!Check out their gear at http://blog.fightchix.com/ . Most of my day was filled with studying and doing my CISSN and I was soooo honoured to meet Dr. Jose Antonio!!! If you don’t know who he is…u crazy son! lol He is one of the greatest minds out their in my opinion and man was I nervous and intimidated lol. He was unbelievably cool and laid back. You can find out more about him here http://www.sportsnutritioninsider.com/ or here http://www.sportsnutritionsociety.org/
Last year I got to go to the WEC fights and this year was Strikeforce. Dan Henderson who is one of my fave fighters was fighting Rafael Cavalcante not only as the main event fight but also for the title. Gooo Hendo…yes he won 🙂 Tim Kennedy is not only one helluva fighter but wow what a guy. So humble and just seems like a real legit dude. I think the highlight for me though was the women’s welterweight champion Marloes Coenen and her challenger, Liz Carmouche’s fight. It was intense and in my opinion, THE most entertaining fight of the night. For the first bit it seemed like Carmouche was gonna take the title (and holy shit she only had two weeks notice to fight wow!) than almost out of nowhere in the fourth round, Coenen took it by submission. These girls were badass and had so much respect for eachother which I love. Seriously….sooo good!

Well it is the third day back to the grind so for now, I bid you adieu ;D

P.S. I got to spend the weekend with some of my favourite people and for that I am most greatful and really made my weekend as great as it was 😉
